Inverted Nature

I've been sharing so much of my product work lately, and I thought I would change things up today by sharing some of my nature work. As of now the series is untitled, perhaps it should remain that way. For me, this type of work is unusual but I really wanted to push myself when I started working on this project. The process was quite simple. Using a medium format analog camera, I captured the images and then scanned the negatives to digital files. Instead of converting them to positives I left them as negatives. The results are very surreal. The images take on something else and become much more than just pictures of nature. In a way it is almost like an x-ray or a microscope image of tissue or hair follicles. These images show how patterns in nature can appear on other organisms.
