The Polaroid SX-70

The Polaroid SX-70 is often considered the most important Polaroid cameras ever made. Its sleek design and innovative technology stands the test of time. I recently purchased one from KEH and has been the camera of choice for me. The camera folds down allowing for easy transport. It's also one of the few Polaroid models that's an SLR! I love everything about the process of instant photography.

Yes, Polaroid as a company doesn't really exist anymore. They don't make film anymore. The only way to shoot a polaroid is through a company called Impossible Project. They make a variety of instant films that breathes new life into polaroid cameras.

I think what I like most about the instant photography process is the lack of rules. It allows me to break the 'traditional' photography workflow and I get to shoot more freely. The limited tonal range of the film allows for a unique look that is hard to create digitally. Knowing that the image that comes out of the camera is unique is also a special feeling. It can't be recreated, its one of a kind. Below are some examples of my work. Thanks for reading!
